I don’t understand why they could not post offers if they have access to more accounts?

Am I being dim but it’s okay to help your friend do some offers isn’t it?

Because what you mention is not allowed to be talked about neither here or just about any other MB forum and yet Oddsmonkey manage to constantly defy the odds by being able to obtain and screenshot offers on Betfair that are quickly removed from most soon after signing up.

    Morning all,

Wouldn’t want this to become a platform to slate other sites (and I don’t think that’s what this thread is at the moment hence we have left it) but the talk of ‘multi-accounting’ is a sore subject for most because it gives the bookie a chance to file legal against the matched betting site if they are seen to ‘encourage’ people using multiple accounts with one firm in order to maximise profit.

We certainly wouldn’t ever do that!

However, I think it’d naive to think that people don’t do it. Where the opportunity arises, and there is a grey area, people will do it. Much like tradespeople working for ‘cash-in-hand’.

Does that mean you can’t talk about multiple accounts or cash-in-hand on this site either?

Hell no! I don’t see any issue with acknowledging something exists…

However, we wouldn’t condone someone suggesting others to make more from a specific XYZ firm by having multiple accounts in different names.

If you want to offer your friend ‘tips’ on how to matched bet and sit beside them while they do it though, that’s a different story (and totally on you). Bookmakers love people giving out tips and help to each other so they can place bets on their platform. Most of them even have their own tipping sections every day.

    Hope that makes sense…

    Cheers,
    Caan

Another from OM. Rejoined in October 2019 after an 18 months break from matched betting. Foolishly paid for a twelve months subscription, only to find that a lot of the old crew who I could have some banter with had gone and the atmosphere around the forum just wasn’t pleasant at times. I’m paid up there until October, then I won’t be going back.

    Hi chorleydave,

Thanks for sharing your opinion. Could you elaborate on what would make the forum good/bad so we can ensure there’s the best possible experience here!

If you have other Matched Betting contacts to invite to our forums we’re grateful too. Gaining exposure within the Matched Betting community online has been particularly tough due to the amount of affiliates that control groups and social media platforms. They all want paying (and we would love to pay them) but with the site being free, that’s not possible.

Lastly you can update you forum avatar image here:

Hi.  One of the first things I noticed was that there was a division between those to whom OM could do no wrong and the rest, resulting in threads often turning into slanging matches between the two sides. To be honest, it reminded me of Twitter – full of assholes who would gang up to pursue their own narrow agenda. The really experienced members who seemed to be permanent fixtures, giving advice, were no longer there and some queries from newbies who might have made a mistake, for example laying liabilty instead of lay stake, would be curtly directed to the relevant guide, rather than talked through it like they used to be. It was as if the remaining people couldn’t grasp that everybody has to start somewhere.  The staff (with a couple of exceptions) who eighteen months ago would be ever present in every thread, had become conspicuous by their absence. The Blog, which was updated every day by one of the staff outlining his previous day’s matched betting activity had been replaced by occasional random articles.

Three years ago, I would have directed everyone who wanted to start matched betting to OM, not least because of the friendliness. I wouldn’t now.

Unfortunately many of ‘the rest’ were quite often the experienced members who were getting fed up with having to fill in for the staff who by their absence weren’t doing there jobs properly. For example OP’s constantly just cut and pasted from either previous offers or copied from other sites having to be regularly corrected by paying members is completely unacceptable.

Many of the experienced voiced opinions and were silenced by being issued with bans. In just a few days back in July last year about 10 members were banned, the loss of so many decent helpful members was the turning point for me. The coronavirus thread signalled the end for me. The most surprising though was that my ban wasn’t for any of my rants but for…. Constant talk of multi accounts??? The one thing I never did!!

    Strange!

Oooh she loves e/w no lay!

Basically I questioned as to how the site managed to continually post Betfair Arcade/Casino offers that the vast majority couldn’t see.  The question went unanswered and obviously hit a nerve so I was banned for apparently talking about the unmentionable…

It’s quite possible she did the unmentionable – although I do remember Betfair being weird with casino promotions for a while. It was almost like the casino and arcade offers were tiered based upon previous play so if you played a lot through the arcade / casino you would never get the “low risk” offers like 5 free spins on xxx or bet 5 get xxxx you would only ever get the Ladder / level bonuses

I thought I was going mad but I have noticed Betfair have different promotions to different people. I wondered if it was because of previous wins or something! Not very ‘fair’ but works for the business I would think. Thanks
