High, I have given trading ago but this is new and I would just like to ask this. I have read how the bookies( accountants) stop or reduce your betting with them if you look like a winner so how long will they allow you to get away with this before we get that SORRY letter? In other words are some of you keeping under the radar?.

    Thanks, Jimbo

    Hi Jimbo,

You never know what bookmakers are using to close accounts, whether or not they share information so you might be surprised with some accounts. How long the last or how short they are gone! Every bookmaker is different.

The best tip I can give you for keeping accounts open longer than usual is to spread your bets around. Don’t just do the free bet offers with one bookmaker until they close you, try spread it around. For example, do Paddy Power one day, SkyBet the next etc. Try some 2 Ups, bet on the big leagues and they’ll be happy to lay those bets and you could win big. There’s plenty of helpful articles here about 2 Ups. Don’t do any arbs either and that will help. The reality these days is you can have a losing account but if you do a bet and a lot of shrewd accounts follow you in and the market moves, you might get thrown in with a group of closed accounts. Don’t worry too much about it because you’ve no control – just avoid the stuff bookmakers really don’t like. Big arbs etc!

Thanks, Stephen, I did my first 2up yesterday but was 0-0 and lost very small so will try again. Sounds like you really like this 2up thing mate so I won’t let one bad result put me off and as for the advise big thanks. I must admit I tend to do all my bets with the exchanges these days unless its a fav and I can back it at Best Odds with no tax and on fair terms but for most other bets you can ask for a price and beat the bookie’s price although it’s not as good as it once was. Anyway thanks again and good luck.
