Hi Diane (Andia),
For the Paddy Power bet club, I do 5 bets of £10 or more (I vary 10, 11, 12 to look a bit ‘muggy’, but 5 * £10 is ok).
Or, you can do 5 bets of £5 to get the £5 free bet level (it’s the £5 offer or the £10 offer, not both per week), but, I’m here to ‘max it out’ with the £10 level 😉
What you need to do is to use the calculater in Normal mode for these 5 bets (as these are ‘qualifying bets’ and using your own money), then when the free one comes on Monday, use the Free Bet SNR mode (these are free bets, stake not returned).
I tend not to click on the buttons on the side of the Matcher tool; I calculate manually using the calculater under ‘Features/Bet Calculater’ from the header bar menu above. This is because by the time I’ve opened up bookie and exchange, the odds may have moved, so you can adjust the figures yourself in ‘real time’.
For the 5 bets, I look for a loss of around 50 – 80 pence. You are looking for short odds, with back and lay prices close together, ideally. If you manage to get any ‘odds boost’ or ‘power up’, use these to increase the bookie’s backing odds to lower your cost! Obviously, less cost at this stage, is better.
Also, if the football match you are doing (for example) offers ‘Paddy 2 up’ or ‘Golden Goal’, then all the better, as you could get lucky! So combine offers where you can. 🙂
For horses, some bookies have the ‘extra place’ offer that you could combine a qualifying bet with, but I’m not 100% sure with these types of offers yet. My question would be, if putting a £10 each way bet (total 2 bets, cost is £20), does only one of the bets count as the qualifier?
For the Free bet, a good check is that you lay around 60 – 70% of the free bet value (so £6 to £7 for the free bet, you gain). Here you are looking for longer odds; the longer the better!
As for the terms and conditions, the qualifying bets (5 bets of £10) need to be minimum odds of 1.50 (1/2), and double check to see if any maximum odds for the free bet.
As for profit, last week I made around £4 on this, so not alot of profit. But, do enough of these, and with other bookies, it all adds up! 🙂 I didn’t find any ‘2 up’ or ‘Golden Goal’ matches to combine mine with, it’s only occurred to me that I could do this!
Good luck, and hope my post makes some sort of sense? Please keep firing away with anymore questions and someone will come and try to help?
Lou
September 1, 2019 at 5:13 am #10327AndiaMemberThanks Lou – sorry I only just saw your reply – on the 2nd page ! Good tips, I will go through and see how I get on. Again thanks for the help. Diane
September 2, 2019 at 2:34 pm #10396mikewilliams1981MemberHow are you getting on today Andia?
September 4, 2019 at 10:16 pm #10528AndiaMemberHi thanks all, I’ve worked through a lot or mainly all the sign up offers and have done 2 risk free (phew) so am moving along pretty happily – thanks again for the amazing product.
I’m interested to understand how the casino offers work with matched betting???? I had 10 lucky spins and a spare £5 which somehow 😉 happy days I turned into £26 but haven’t a clue how and I didn’t incorporate the calculator or as far as I know any match betting tools.
So yes CASINO tips would be very welcome – I don’t fancy getting carried away wasting money on spins or other ‘games’ which in the past I’ve thought of as a no go – especially with an addictive personality disorder! But thanks again – this is an awesome place and at last I feel happy I have found something I can work at and learn more to be financially safer.
Regards Diane (Andia)
September 6, 2019 at 11:26 pm #10683RoxMemberBe careful on the casino hun a lot of them want you to carry on spinning with your own money after the free spins are up! Don’t do it!
September 7, 2019 at 8:10 pm #10699L0UMemberHow to make money on casino. Start with a huge balance, do low value spins and hope to ride out the variance. I’ve read somewhere that people doing casino offers have multi-thousands for their bankroll, just to ride out the variance….
Too much variance for me, and also waaay too ‘rich’ for me, and also anything ‘addictive’ in the personality (which, I CAN relate to!) is a good enough reason to leave alone.
If you do decide to do casino offers, read the t&c’s very carefully. Most require wagering requirement on the bonus (fair enough), but there are some that put the wagering requirement on both your real money AND the bonus amount (a bit sneaky!).
September 22, 2019 at 1:51 pm #12052chrisf1957MemberI have a question regarding the matched betting calculator
Working my way through some of the Bet X get Y offers I note that the bookies listed in the calculator do not correspond to all the bookies in the list. Eg BetRegal this makes it difficult to find a decent price for the initial offer and the free bet
Any suggestions
September 22, 2019 at 9:38 pm #12067AndiaMemberThanks all, yes I will leave the casinos alone – too much hassle and yes addictive – I also found out to my cost after the offer spins finished they didn’t display quickly enough to realise I was now playing with my own money!
Interesting day – I put a lay on Seb Vettal (F1) I’m an addict and he had a good price as his form has been awful this year – well it changed today – at my cost! I had covered it with a winning bet of £50 on Betfred and then decided on a quick lay on Verstappen so actually only lost about £50 altogether – another hard lesson!
Now I’m doing a stupid thing by laying small amounts on all the horse racing events – now in the USA and putting small lays on the horses least likely to come anywhere – risky but need to buckle down and get a proper system going. Learn more about safely and correctly placing bets – still struggling on 2ups even after printing off the instructions from here! So keep coming with the tips – it’s a never ending learning process thank you 😉
September 23, 2019 at 7:00 pm #12113BunnyMemberHi, is it worth joining all them Bet clubs for 5 free bet ? Im playing with calculator and odds, and its hard to make even 1 pound profit, considering have to bet 25 to get 5 Fb. I ve heard so many people saying its extra 3 quid, hmmm its hard even make 2 … :/
September 23, 2019 at 8:03 pm #12117BunnyMemberOk i got it, qualifying bets should be at lowest odds possible , and free bet at highest 🙂
September 23, 2019 at 9:31 pm #12121L0UMemberHi Bunny,
A way of thinking about the bet clubs is to combine qualifying for the free bet alongside something else. For example, with Paddy Power, they do the 5 bets a week bet club, but, they also do the 2Up on the football. By doing these 2Ups, you qualify to the bet club at the same time, giving you essentially free attempts to land a 2UP, as the free bet you gain will pay the qualifying costs.
Another club I do is the MoPlay £25 for £5 one. Sounds a bit ‘meh’ but MoPlay will give something extra every alternate week you stay in the club. My last extra freebie was an extra £10 SNR to bet. I’ve not found something to combine with this club yet, but the £2-£3 a week at least helps keep other qualifying costs down.
Have fun fleecing those bookies! 🙂
September 24, 2019 at 6:25 am #12127BunnyMemberThanks, i ll do sign up offers first to build up bank a bit and then be joining all them clubs, especially Paddy Power one, after netting 44 GBP on games bonus (2GBP) 😀
September 26, 2019 at 10:58 am #12193RoxMemberHi Bunny, nice to see more girl power here!
L0u has hit the nail on the head but I find to get the best second leg of bets I go for odds over 8. The small £5 bets it’s easy because there is not much liability, hope that helps some more.
September 26, 2019 at 3:49 pm #12205L0UMemberChrisf1957, Bookie prices tend to follow each other, so looking at, say, Ladbrokes can give you a fair idea of the prices for the smaller bookies. Apart from that, nothing to suggest apart from manually compare prices, although the guys are Profit Rush are adding in other bookies to the list when they can (my guess is when they can get a data feed from a bookie, they will add it).
I would concentrate on getting prices that are 10% or less difference (example, 2.0 back, 2.2 lay is 10%), and the best matches aren’t necessarily at the shortest prices either. Hopefully, the more you do matched betting, you’ll start to get an ‘eye’ for the numbers too.
Good Luck and happy hunting! 🙂
September 26, 2019 at 4:07 pm #12206L0UMemberHi Andia,
Be wary of the race time for those American races. I’ve been stung before when trying out a bit of sports trading on these – races going off 5 mins before the time said on Betfair. Also those markets were not very ‘liquid’ (so bad prices?), so I would be amazed if there were any good price matches. The same goes for the greyhound racing too (going off early and not alot of money on the exchanges to get a match). There’s probably a service on the web somewhere that gives proper times for the American racing, so worth having a look.
Take a deep breath, and remember that matched betting is NOT gambling. Imagine that you are building your pot for your future sports trading career; make a profit graph to help you visualise, maybe?
Make a set of rules to stick to, and most important is, MB with real money what you know, whilst learning more advanced matched betting methods.
I have made a couple of mistakes in the past, but managed to repair without too much bother. Never again, MB at 1am! Only MB when brain is sharp!
