I was watching the markets move on betfair last night during x factor and can’t help but think there’s so much profit in reality tv! Anyone have any tips for trading these markets?

God I miss the trades when X Factor had decent liquidity. I’m talking going back to the Jedward days! The novelty act lay used to have some superb value but the market has adjusted to that now over the years.

My one big tip for reality TV would be to not base your bets or trades off who has the most talent or is the best, it’s all about who the people watching like. Who makes them laugh and are likely to vote. Actually seen a good example of this on X Factor two weeks ago when two very good signers went but the lesser talented acts stayed. I feel like some markets factor this in now, that it’s not all down to talent. Let’s see what happens in I’m A Celeb!

Reading the words I’m a celeb gets me so excited! Only 3 days left to the official line up is revealed. So far I think Ian Wright is going to be the winner. I love this time of year on the lead up to Xmas.

Seen a marvelous trade on X Factor last night. Vinnie Jones was in the bottom two and trading 4.0 to leave. He then gave a speech saying he’d like to step aside and price crashed to 1.25, but Simon quickly said that the judges wanted to vote so I laid 1.25. It collected! I know I risked some cash but it was very much worth it at those odds. With reality TV betting, liquidity is so thin there is always some risk.
