That’s all you need to get started, it’s simple! Let’s go through the steps so you can get the most money.
Step 1 – Place our qualifying bet:
Let’s look at the 1-50pm with SkyBet, and you can repeat the trick with Paddy Power later in the day. We want to find a close match within the market, while also trying to find a good place chance. Looking at the SkyBet and Betfair markets, we have two options:
- Terebellum, backing 4.33 with SkyBet and laying 4.8 with Betfair for a qualifying cost of £1.13.
- Fox Chairman, backing 8.0 with SkyBet and laying 8.8 with Betfair for a qualifying cost of £1.07.
There’s very little in it, so choose which horse you feel is more likely to place and also not win. At the moment, Terebellum is 1.96 to place on Betfair while Fox Chairman is 2.68. For step 1, you place a £10 win bet on your selected horse.
Step 2 – Lay off on the exchanges:
Now that we’ve placed our qualifying bet with SkyBet, we need to lay off on the exchanges. For this example, we picked Terebellum so we’re going to lay on Betfair. We put this information into the Profit Rush Bet Calculator. You should see a screen like this:
As you can see, the calculator gives us the stake to lay Terebellum on Betfair. We lay £9.06 at 4.8 resulting in a set up cost of £1.13. Remember the liability is £34.43 on Betfair.
Now after that’s done, let’s look at our outcomes…

At the time of writing, Terebellum is just odds on to place on Betfair which only applies to the first three, including winning obviously. However, this gives you an idea of the amazing value you’re getting with this offer. Effectively you’re getting odds of 8.92 on Terebellum finishing 2nd, 3rd or 4th. Looking at how the market and race shapes up, this is a superb position. Imagine the profit over the long-term.
