    Hi All,

    I was just viewing a few topics elsewhere and noticed somebody mentioned ‘gubbing’ from a bookmakers.

    Can someone help me out and explain what gubbing means and how it works?

    Hi Sarah,

    Gubbing is a slang term that means to have your account restricted, usually for winning.

    If you dont arb with your matched bets accounts last longer, especially with the big bookmakers.

    So is gubbing the same as restrictions or do you get totally banned from betting with the bookmaker?

    It can be both Suzy !

    It can mean having your account closed or getting restricted to only pennies ! It happens quickly with some terrible bookmakers in my experience

    Yes, I have had no end of trouble with them, they just hate losing to me, my approach doesn’t help me really, I know how many there is so if one gubs me I open three more 🙂 These have ranged from promotions being unavailable to me, to account closure..
