Have you noticed any difference in game play recently on slots that are supposedly low/med variance???
before you mention EV etc… I have been doing this for years so it isn’t a one off thing I have noticed. It has pretty much been since the RTPs were made variable, however one of the biggest culprits Starburst is by NetEnt who I am sure haven’t made their RTPs variable. When available this was one of my go to games to either play through a deposit or grind out a bonus. Since the beginning of this year though, I have noticed a huge difference in play. It is pretty much playing like a high variance slot now – constantly dead spinning from anything between 30-60 spins on a regular basis – and I mean regular. Usually this thing would happen around 1 in 20 sessions, since the start of this year it has been happening 90% of the time.
I have also noticed a similar pattern of play with the low variance playtech slots such as Age of Egypt, Halloween Fortune, Golden Tour & Gaelic Luck.
If possible Golden Tour and Uncharted are my preferred choice for grinding.If not I head to Starburst or Big Bad Wolf, I’ll always expect BBW to be a bit volitile but the bonus rounds are good enough to get through wagering. As for Starburst, yes I agree it no longer appears to be the low variance it once was but the most notable drastic change I think is Guns and Roses, I seem to recall that a few months ago it got tweaked and has never been the same since.

Yeah I’m not sure whats going on – I’ve got a sneaky suspicion that the games are playing incorrectly to being originally programmed for a specific RTP. There’s been instances before with random games where certain win combinations & payouts werent possible. Also having worked with fruit machines before, although not random even the slightest change in RTP can fuck up the play so maybe that’s happened here ro maybe im just unlucky. I’ll have to keep testing and see as the amount of spins would not be relative in the eyes of an examining body thus far. I’m almost tempted to waste my own money outside of offers to investigate at this point though
